The regional newspaper Le Courrier de Saône-et-Loire for October 23, 1954, reported very briefly that one of their readers from Autun had informed them that, while standing "in recent days" in front of the Post Office, he had seen "a mysterious round-shaped luminous object in the sky."

A resident of Champforgeuil saw a mysterious object in the sky on Thursday evening. It was a luminous sphere that hovered for a while, then suddenly rose rapidly and disappeared.
One of our readers from Autun reports that, while standing in front of the post office a few days ago, he saw a mysterious round-shaped luminous object in the sky.
