ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

Summary:

A listing of the ufology group CNEGU indicates that there was a sighting at an unknown date and an unknown month of 1976 in the Bas-Rhin at the Haut-Koenigsbourg.

In a publication from the 1980s, the CNEGU gave more details:

In the summer of 1973 or 1976, between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. local time, three teenagers arrived at the panoramic terrace of the Haut-Koenigsbourg castle (755 m above sea level), the sky was clear. They observe towards the east between Kintzheim and Orchwiller (67) a luminous white sphere in the sky. This noiselessly performs a geometric figure without jerks or wakes, with two right angles. The phenomenon would have reproduced at the same time, a week later.

The CNEGU indicated as a source a summary of an investigation by Eric Antoine of June 1986 published in LDLN issue 67; which is incorrect as the LDLN magazine issue 67 was published in 1964.
