ALSACAT-2000-08-27-STRASBOURG-1
"Nicolas", a Strasbourg resident, had told his observation to the Swiss ufology group GREPI, by email.
On the night of August 27 to 28, 2000, around 11:00 p.m., he was in the company of friends on the road, 20 kilometers from Strasbourg. The weather was stormy but no lightning had appeared, only clouds covered the sky.
Suddenly a glow streaked the sky "like a big green shooting star, and not losing its speed, we had the feeling that it had exploded behind a cloud, the explosion produced a faint green glow."
Nicolas did not know what it could have been and hoped the GREPI would give some answers.

[Ref. gri1:] WITNESS REPORT TO THE G.R.E.P.I. WEBSITE:
I live in France, specifically in Strasbourg.
On the night of August 27 to 28, 2000, around 11:00 p.m., I was in the company of friends on the road, 20km from Strasbourg. The weather was stormy but still no lightning had appeared, only clouds covered the sky.
Suddenly a glow streaked the sky, like a big green shooting star, and not losing its speed, we had the feeling that it had exploded behind a cloud, an explosion that produced a weak green glow.
In front of a lot of questions, I decided to write to you hoping that you will try to bring us some answers. In advance thank you.
Nicolas (Strasbourg - France)

Everything in the report indicates that this was a meteor entering our atmosphere to finally disintegrate.
Probable meteor.
