They continue to be seen, in every azimuths, saucers, cigars, and other varieties of these fabulous navigators of the 1954 skies. In Yaoundé, Cameroon, where Colonel Cauvin, head of the hygiene services, and many local dignitaries spotted a flying mushroom. All these people were gathered at the colonel’s home and were preparing to go to the cinema. The household dog, it seems, began to growl and its fur stood on end, which drew everyone’s attention... They went out looking for a burglar and instead found a flying saucer. This time it had the shape of a mushroom, which is quite new, the coffee-service style having become somewhat overused. The mushroom was joined by a second one, then disappeared.
In Egypt, it was an entomologist, Mr. Abdelkrim, who saw a red-colored sphere moving through the sky. Meanwhile, in Beirut, the representative of a German firm, Mr. Max Favell, noticed a craft hovering above the sea.
Near Muenster, in Westphalia, Mr. Hoge, a cinema operator, saw on Saturday evening four men emerge from a flying cigar that had just landed and calmly begin repairing their craft. Mr. Hoge watched them work for ten minutes but did not approach. He then saw them climb back into their machine, which took off and disappeared. They were, he specified, beings about 1.2 meters tall, broad-chested and slender-limbed.
In the sky over Frankfurt, thirteen members of a gliding school observed above the Ockstadt airfield "a slightly bulging silver disc."
In New Zealand, they were reportedly photographed. Mr. Gibbons of Nelson is said to have taken two snapshots of rather blurry cylindrical objects... on film.
In France, finally, they were seen in Saint-Laurent-les-Macon, above the Saône; in Tourriers, 17 kilometers from Angoulême; in La Ferté-Macé, in the Orne, etc. We only detail the cases that present some originality in the object seen or the circumstances of the sighting, but let us remind that all those who naturally ask questions about this fascinating problem will read in the next issue of L'Humanité-Dimanche, the mass-sale edition of October 17, the answers from the greatest authorities that can be found on the subject.
